National Silent Walking Vigil for Peace

Saturday 19th September, 2026, 12.00pm – 4.00pm.

A national silent walking vigil for peace, organised by Quakers and welcoming all supportive participants. The vigil is a constructive, public witness for peace, showing solidarity and compassion with those affected by violence, conflict and war. The date marks the United Nations International Day of Peace.

Central London (exact location given on registration).

The gathering opens with a short meeting for worship, then walks together quietly at a measured pace for around one and a half miles, with pauses along the route for further worship, and a final meeting for worship at the end. A walking vigil is not a protest or a demonstration — it is a peaceful witness. You are welcome to join for any part of the route.

“This is happening. We will walk for peace. Please join us.”

Please book via quaker.org.uk to register and receive the meeting point.
